Spain will be looking to gain three points from their visit to Athens for their World Cup 2022 Qualifying game against Greece to put pressure on Group B leaders Sweden.

La Roja beat Kosovo 2-0 in September to cement second position in the standings, while Greece lost 2-0 to Sweden, so they have seen their chances of qualifying automatically reduced.
The hosts, who want to get their ticket to their third World Cup Finals since 2010, sit third with nine points, while Spain have 13 and Sweden 15 when there are only two games remaining. That means that the Greeks need to win to keep their chances alive.
It won’t be a walk in the park for Luis Enrique’s men though, as Greece’s defeat to Sweden was only their second loss from their last 15 matches across all competitions.
Greece, very tough at home
John van’t Schip’s squad hasn’t tasted defeat for over two years on home soil. However, Greece have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 games.
Spain, who lost the Nations League final to France, are in the unfamiliar position of having to fight for the top spot, as they sit two points behind Sweden. But even if the Euro 2012 champions collapse and drop out of the top two, their Nations League ranking will still see them advance to the playoffs.
But Luis Enrique will want to get the job done and avoid unfamiliar scenarios. The Spaniards will seek their third World Cup Qualifying victory on the bounce before their final meeting with Sweden.
