The Heat looking good coming into the Staples Center showing the drip

By the way... Lakers drip.

The Lakers still have Russ, who is always a pretty sure bet to put up a triple double everytime he takes the floor.

The Lakers are going through a rough patch at the moment not just with wins and losses, but on the injury front as well.

Davis was feeling ill, and actually threw up before getting the game winning block against the Hronets on Monday.

Anthony Davis is leading the Lakers at 23.9 points per game, and 11.1 rebounds a game.

Bam Adebayo has been a menace in the paint grabbing nearly 12 rebounds a game

Jimmy Butler is the top scorer for the Hear at 25.3 ppg, while Tyler Herro is getting 20.3 ppg.

The Heat meanwhile have starte 7-3 and Eric Spoelstra has Miami moving in the right direction. Tonight will be the second game of a five game road trip out west.

Carmelo Anthony is averaging 17.6 points a game in his first year as a Laker, and the 36 year old looks like the best version of Melo we have seen in quite some time

LeBron James will miss yet another game with an abdominal injury. James has sat out the last three games and Carmelo Anthony has taken the mic in his stead.

We are live from the Staples Center where the Lakers return home looking to get to .500 on the year, while the Heat are hoping to keep their good run of form going after starting the season 7-3

Hello everyone and welcome to the Staples Center where the Los Angeles Lakers host the Miami Heat. AS English will be keeping you up to the minute with live coverage, stats, scores and updates of all the action tonight from LA.

LeBron James remains out with an abdominal injury, which has given Carmelo Anthony a chance to shine for the Lakers. He has scored 20 or more points in two of his last three games, and is looking like a Carmelo that we haven’t seen in years.

Melo had 29 points with seven three pointers on Monday in the Lakers overtime win over the Charlotte Hornets. Melo is averaging 17.6 points a night and is enjoying a renaissance in Tinseltown.

"I'm adapting to what this team needs from me," said Anthony. "Knocking down shots when the opportunities come. My teammates look for me to score the basketball. They believe in me and that's what I'm here to do."

Russell Westbrook had one of his best games as a Lakers, with his second triple double of his LA tenure.

Miami are coming off of a feisty encounter with the Denver Nuggets on Monday night. They began their five game road trip with a loss in the Mile High City, but the big story coming out of the game was the dust up between Markieff Morris and Nikola Jokic.

Jokic was suspended for a game, while Morris was docked $50,000 which Butler was fined $30,000 for his involvement.

"No doubt I took a hard foul which I always do but I've never hit a man with his back turned!" Morris tweeted. "Luckily we built different over here. I can take my licks and keep pushing."

The Heat won both matchups against the Lakers last year, but the Lakers topped the Heat in the NBA Finals the year before.
