USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter looking forward to Mexico clash
"In the context of World Cup qualifying, it’s just another game, right? But in terms of the rivalry and the history and the times when you get to play them with a pro-U.S. crowd in a great stadium, I mean, it makes it special. It really does, and we’re focused on playing our game, playing a good game, and really just looking forward to giving this young group the experience of this game,” said Berhlater on Monday.
Mexico have beaten the USMNT just once in 49 years in World Cup qualifiers
In the last 10 World Cup qualifying games Mexico and the United States each have four wins and two draws. The last time they play against each other was in the World Cup qualifiers of 2018 and they ended with a 1-1 draw at the Azteca.
What is Christian Pulisic's record against Mexico?

Sold out crowd anticipated for the USA-Mexico game
The United States men’s national team will host Mexico at the TQL stadium in Cincinnati for matchday seven of the World Cup qualifiers in CONCACAF. Christian Pulisic has no love for the Mexico national team
The soccer rivalry between Mexico and the United States grew more this year because of the two finals that ‘El Tri’ lost during the summer. They seek revenge and want to lose a third time in a row against the CONCACAF rivals in their road to the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“It is like every other rivalry, we don’t like each other and when the match starts everything becomes more tense on the pitch. The last two games are an example of that, it is always a war and even the tackles are harder,” said Pulisic during an interview with ESPN.
The USMNT is looking for their third consecutive win against Mexico this year in official tournaments.
USMNT: Ricardo Pepi is a big admirer of Raúl Jiménez
Ricardo Pepi is one of the most promising young players in the United States men’s national team and several teams in Europe are keen on signing him during the winter transfer window. The 18-year-old will play with the USMNT during the international break in November and he could experience the rivalry between the United States and Mexico for the first time.
Official: Pulisic will not start against Mexico national team
Prior to the November international window, the manager of Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel, sent a message to the USMNT about being cautious with Christian Pulisic’s minutes. Tuchel said that the 23-year-old still felt pain in his ankle and he should not play a lot after an almost two-month recovery.
