How and where to watch 49ers vs Rams
The Los Angeles Rams travel up the coast to face Bay Area rivals San Francisco 49ers in Levi’s Stadium for more than just divisional bragging rights.
The Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers are set to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET in Santa Clara’s Levi’s Stadium.
Our own Dane Arlauckas will be streaming live commentary on AS English.
After last week’s ugly loss to the Tennessee Titans, the odds on the LA Rams winning have shortened. They are still the favorites, but not by as much as before. The offensive line will need to up their performance this week against a firm 49ers pass rush. There are some big playmakers on the San Francisco defensive line that can wreak havoc, and standing at fifth in yards per play allowed, this the best unit the Rams have seen in quite a while.
The big news for Los Angeles is the maiden outing for Odell Beckham Jr. The superstar receiver was picked up just before the deadline from Cleveland and will suit up for the first time as a Ram. It is not clear how much action he will see, given that he has had only a few days to learn a new system, but Sean McVay will rule nothing out.
The 7-2 Rams will be looking to put some space between them and the 3-5 49ers but don’t let the records fool you, these two teams have a history that makes for upsets. Kyle Shanahan definitely has a valid claim that he owns Sean McVay. The two coaches are 5-3 in favor of Shanahan when facing off against each with these two teams, and more broadly, the teams themselves are 14-7-1 in favor of San Francisco since 2010. No matter how good the Rams are and how bad the 49ers are, it seems like San Francisco has just gotten inside the head of LA.
