Inter Miami CF failed to book their ticket in their second year in Major League Soccer and some changes are coming ahead of the start of the 2022 campaign. On Monday, it was confirmed that George Acosta, Ventura Alvarado, Dylan Castanheira, Jay Chapman, Sami Guediri, Kelvin Leerdam, John McCarthy, Josh Penn, Patrick Seagrist and Víctor Ulloa will not return next season.

Also it was announced that Break Shea and Indiana Vassilev will end their contracts with the Major League Soccer side and Federico Higuaín will retire from the sport. On the other hand, the Inter Miami boss Phil Neville has decided to give Ryan Shawcross another opportunity even though he suffered with several injuries in his first season.

Harvey Neville earns promotion

With a failure of a season with experienced players, the club has chosen to take another route and give the youngsters an opportunity for the 2022 MLS campaign. Neville confirmed that his son, Harvey, will have the opportunity to play with the first team next season.

He’s [Harvey] done well and although he has a lot of development to do, he is part of a group of eight to 10 players who we want to get involved with the MLS team,” said Neville. “He is only young. There are ups and downs and many challenges ahead but he just has to keep up his attitude. We are a club which needs to produce its own players and we want to get this group on the pitch as soon as we can.”
