Much of the Jets' long-term hopes are on Zach Wilson's shoulders (another important percentage resides in Robert Saleh) and after being out for four games, the former BYU quarterback is back.

According to reports from the NFL Network and The Athletic, a source revealed that the rookie quarterback will be the Jets' starter for their Week 12 game at NRG Stadium in Houston.

Wilson, 22, suffered a posterior cruciate ligament injury in his knee during Week 7's game against the New England Patriots and during his absence Mike White and Joe Flacco relieved him, going 1-3.

From the start of the season until his injury, Wilson recorded six starts, 104 completions (181 attempts), 1,168 yards, four touchdowns, nine interceptions and a 63.5 rating.

For the commitment against the Texans, Robert Saleh will not be able to count on Mike White and Joe Flacco, who were placed on the covid-19 list / reserve. Mike Garofolo, from the league channel, reported that White tested positive for coronavirus and Flacco, an unvaccinated player, was in direct contact with his teammate.

Faced with casualties in the quarterback corps, the Jets are expected to activate Josh Johnson from the practice squad to be Wilson's backup during the game on Texas soil. Johnson, 35, has been in the NFL for seven years with eight starts in that span.
