Patriots 14 vs. 10 Bills summary: scores, stats and highlights| NFL Week 13

Update:
The New England Patriots won their seventh in a row after holding off the Buffalo Bills in a cold, windy Monday night from Highmark Stadium.

It was whacky, it was wild, and it was windy in Western New York as the New England Patriots held off the Buffalo Bills to take control of the AFC. The Pats run game led the way, rushing for over 200 yards, while Mac Jones threw just three passes all game.

A couple of turnovers by both teams in the first quarter led to the opening scores of each teams night. The Pats got the first TD with a 64 yard Damien Harris TD after a Josh Allen fumble on a hand off.

The Bills took advantage of a Patriots fumble off a punt and punched in a 14 yard TD pass from Allen to Davis.

Special teams and the wind would then take over as the headlines over the next three quarters. Whatever team that was going into the wind found it hard to move the ball, and impossible to kick in the face of the wind.

Nick Folk hit a short field goal late in the first half to extend the Pats lead to 11-7. Tyler Bass pulled the Bills to within one after a thrid quarter field goal, but that would be the last time Buffalo scored.

They had a chance to win the game in the final minutes of the game, but Allen couldn't connect with Gabriel Davis on 4th and Goal from the NE 14 and the Pats held on for their seventh straight win.

The Pats QB1 spoke after throwing just three passes all night.

PATRIOTS WIN!!!!!

It's all over from Buffalo!!! The New England Patriots hold off the Bills in a windy chilly night in Western New York.

The Pats run a couple plays and then have Jones kneel it down. That will bring up a 4th down with one second on the clock.

TURNOVER ON DOWNS!!!

Allen over the middle for Davis but it's batted down by Bryant and that will be a turnover on downs, giving the ball back to NE with under two minutes left and the Bills have just one timeout left.

Phillips was injured not on the last play but during the Two Minute Warning break. He will have to come off the field after getting treatment from the medical team.

The streak is over! After 32 straight run plays, Jones went to the air, but it was incomplete to Agholor.

The 3rd and 11 play is cut short of the first down after Bolden picks up 7, punt coming up.

MISSED FIELD GOAL BUFFALO!!!

Bass missed the 33 yard field goal, and that's the shortest miss of his career.

The wind got hold of that, but not a ridiculous amount. The Pats get off the hook, and the wind continues to play a part in this game.

Allen's pass to Knox is overthrown and 4th and Goal is coming up. Bass will kick the FG into the wind.

Allen was tripped by his own teammate in the backfield and the Pats come up with a big sack. 3rd and goal from the NE 16

Bills will take a timeout as the play clock was running out. They have just 1 TO left.

Allen hits Moss out of the backfield for the first down, and there will be a horse collar penalty tacked on to the end of that reception.

1st and Goal from the NE 6

Allen using his legs for the first time in the game, and the Bills need to see him keep the Pats defense on their toes by scrambling. 1st and 10 from the NE 23.

Allen looking for Sanders but the wind got to that pass and it sailed on Allen. Sanders couldn't make the catch and the Bills were lucky not to see that intercepted.

Allen throws into the wind on 3rd and 1, and finds Diggs for a gain of 11 yards.

Brieda takes the kick back to the BUF 36 and the Bills will start the drive with good field postition

On 3rd and 18 the Pats run it again, and the Pats settle for a field goal. Folk drills the FG from 34 yards and the Pats lead by 4.

The Bills will get the ball back down 14-10 with 13:01 in the fourth. They will be going into the win for the rest of the game.

Stevenson stopped in the backfield on a couple runs in a row and it's 3rd and 18 after the 30th consecutive running play.

End of 3rd Q

New England driving, and they will pick the drive back up after the quarter change. The Patriots will have the wind at their back for the final quarter, which has been one of the most important parts of this game.

Stevenson slices up the left side and picks up another 10 yard chunk. The Pats have been having their way against the Bills run defense. NE on the BUF 23

That last QB sneak is under review, and after the refs have a chance to take a look, uphold the call on the field. 1st and 10 from the 32 for the Pats

Jones picks up the first down on a second straight QB sneak. 1st and 10 from the NE 32

On 3rd and 5 from the BUF 36 Jones keeps it on the QB sneak and that will bring up a 4th and 1 that the Patriots will go for.

The Pats are now over 200 rushing yards on the night.

Harris with a big gainer on the first play of the drive, but he pulls up and it looks like his hamstring gave out on him. Big story developing as the run game is so important tonight.

NE will take over at the 25 yard line after the touchback. The Pats still have just one pass play all game.

FIELD GOAL BILLS!!!

Bass just sneaks it inside the left upright, and the Bills have their first score since early in the game.

New England still lead 11-10 with 6:35 to go in the third.

New England comes up with a stop after the personal foul penalty, and the Bills will take a 35 yard field goal attempt.

What an effort from Josh Allen, who tucked and ran on 3rd down, He leapt and stretched for the marker. He was short but a personal foul call on Bryant give BUF an automatic first down and 15 free yards.

Allen going deep, looking for Diggs who had it hit his arm, but the wind got a hold of that pass and made it much more difficult than it originally appeared.

The Bills go back tot he air, and Allen hits Sanders on a slant pattern for 19 yards to start the drive

The holding call puts an end to the Pats first drive of the second half. The Bills will take over at their 35 yard line after the punt

The snow is starting to fall again in Buffalo, as the Pats continue to hit the ground game.

Well the Bills came out of the break wanting to get the run game going, but they throw it on three of four plays, and the drive comes to a halt after a coulpe of incompletions.

NE will take over from the 25 after the touchback on the punt.

Start of 3rd Q

We are back underway in the third quarter.. The Bills will have the ball first with the winds to their back.

Allen to Davis on the 14 yard slant pattern for a TD

Harris breaks the long run for the opening score of the night

Allen is 6/10 for 46 yards and a touchdown.

BUF's run game only has 33 yards, with Moss leading on 4 carries for 12 yards.

The Bills run game has to be better in the second half if they want to make a comeback in the second half.

So the Pats lead after the first half, but Mac Jones hasn't done much.

He has thrown just one pass tonight. He completed it for 12 yards.

NE's run game has gone for 149, with Harris leading all rushers on 9 carries for 89.

Halftime

After the long Harris run, the Pats were happy just to wind the clock to halftime. We head to the break with NE up 11-7 after two quarters.

Harris starts the drive with a 17 yard run up the gut as NE is around midfield.

Allen is is hit hard after releasing the pass which was batted down at the line. BUF is forced to punt and NE will start from the 25 yard line with 1:48 to play

Two Minute Warning

We are at the Two Minute Warning from Buffalo. The Bills will have a 3rd and short coming out of the break.

The Bills defense is turning up, two NE runs, two tackles for a loss. The Pats go three and out and the Bills will take over from their 34 yard line.

Allen rolled right and put it right on the numbers of Knox, but he couldn't come up with the catch on 3rd and long, BUF will punt, and it's downed at the 15.

5:12 to go in the second quarter.

The Bills are building up a nice drive, and into the wind at that. Any points you can get going into the wind are a bonus.

NE got a big run for a TD, now it's BUF's turn to try, but a delay of game and a sack by Ekuale will complicate that. 3rd and 19 coming up

The wind looks like it has tamed a bit, Buffalo and Allen are throwing into the wind with some success and they are over midfield

Allen to Davis after the fumble on the punt.

Bolden almost broke one, but he was just tripped up after a gain of 16 yards. NE's run game is looking good against the BUF run D

The second quarter starts, and the Pats have the wind at their back now. Let's see how play calling changes for NE.

End of 1st Q

Jones throwing into the wind finding Smith for 12 yards and a first down. That was Jones' first pass of the night and it comes on the last play of the first quarter.

I must say I'm surprised that there have been a couple touchdowns already. Mistakes have aided the offenses in this first quarter.

One play drive after the muffed punt from NE. Two turnovers, one from each team, have led to the opening scores of the game.

TOUCHDOWN BILLS!!!

The Bills strike one play after the fumble recovery, as Allen hits Davis on a slant pattern for the 14 yard TD pass.
BUF has the wind to their back, so they elect to take the PAT, and it's good from Bass

FUMBLE RECOVERY BUFFALO!!!

Harry second guessed whether to field the punt or not, and on the bounce it hit him in the facemask, and the Billl recover the muffed punt with Neal falling on it at the NE 14.

Allen's pass sails over the head of Sanders, and just another example of the conditions taking it's toll. 4th down coming up and the Bills will punt.

Beasley comes up with a tip toe catch on the sideline on 3rd down, but a holding call on Brown will erase the play and bring up a 3rd and 17 for the home side.

The Pats score first after a three play, 69 yard touchdown drive

TOUCHDOWN PATRIOTS!!!

Harris busts through the middle on the pitch and breaks it for a 64 yard touchdown on 3rd and 5. That's the longest run of Harris' career and the longest run of the Pats season.

The Pats elect to go for fwo instead of kicking the PAT, and Boldin sneaks inside the pylon after the pitch to the left side to make it 8-0

Smith is wrapped up in the backfield, that's the Bills' third tackle for a loss already.

If we know the runs are coming, imagine the opposing defenses. Both teams are stacking the box.

FUMBLE RECOVERY NEW ENGLAND!!!

Right after the Brieda catch, he fumbles the hand off on the next play and New England recovers. Guy covers the ball on the NE 31 and the Pats get a break.

There's the first completion of the game, and with it comes the first first down of the night. Allen hits Breida for six yards.

Get used to seeing that little shoe icon on the left side of the screen. That means punt, and were bound to see plenty of them.

The Pats go with three straight runs, and they go three and out yet again. Like we said, don't expect much for offense tonight,

Bailey's punt gets caught in a gust of wind and goes sailing out of bounds after just 15 yards. BUF will start their drive from the NE 40.

Get ready to see a lot of three and outs, a lot of short drives, and not much for kicking games for either side. The run game will be worth it's weight in gold tonight. Whoever wins the run game, will likely come out of tonight with a win

The Bills go 3 and out after Knox couldn't handle the heat on the short pass to the left side.

That's one drop and one near fumble to start the game. The snow has let up, but the weather is still a factor. The wind is howling as 60 mph gusts are expected throughout the night

Ugly start to the night for the Pats, who are lucky to get the chance to punt. Harris fumbled the pitch and had to fall on it just to make sure BUF didn't get it deep in Pats territory.

The Bills get great field position after a short punt. 1st and 10 from the BUF 47

The snow has cleared up, although you can still see some patches on the field at Highland Stadium

Start of 1st Q

We are underway from Buffalo!!! The Bills win the toss and differ, so the Pats and Mac Jones will take the field first.

According to Bet365.com the Bills 3 point favorites tonight, with the Over/Under set at 40 in a chilly, snowy night in Buffalo

We are 15 minutes away from kickoff from Buffalo!

This was about two hours ago in Buffalo. My teeth are chattering just looking at it.

Division duel drip for the Pats

It's never too cold for a game of catch with local fans. Have a look at how Stefon Diggs is holding the football, just to get an understanding of what Mac Jones and Josh Allen will be dealing with tonight.

Emmanuel Sanders knows tonight the Bills will need a Blue Collar performance to come up wtih a win against the Patriots.

It is going to be a chilly one in Buffalo.

How and where to watch MNF: Bills vs. Pats

Monday Night Football is shaping up to be a thrilling confrontation between the top two teams in the AFC East division as the New England Patriots head to Highmark Stadium to challenge the Buffalo Bills.

The game between the 8-4 Patriots and the 7-4 Bills will give an insight as to who will eventually prevail in the division, although they will face each other again in Week 16. (full story here)

Bills still in the hunt

The Bills were once the cream of the crop in the AFC, but three losses in their last six have humbled Buffalo and now they are chasing the New England Patriots. They are still more than in the mix in the AFC West and in the race for first place and home field advantage

Return of the Mac

With the defense locking down opposing offenses, Mac Jones has been a allowed a margin of error that he really hasn't needed. He is far and beyond the most productive of any of the quarterbacks that were picked in the first round of this years NFL Draft. The rookie has thrown for 2,850 yards, 16 touchdowns and 8 interceptions with a completion percentage over 70%.

Pats D is dominating

The Patriots defense has been suffocating during their six game streak. They have only allowed more that 13 points on one occasion in that span. It happened in a 27-24 win over the LA Chargers. Over the last six games the Pats D is allowing an average of 10.5 points a game.

Schedule makers dream

When the NFL schedule makers drew tonight’s game up for prime time, I don’t think in their wildest dreams they could have thought it would have the significance it has coming into the final game of Week 13. A month and a half ago this would have just been another game in the AFC, but the Pats have sprung to life, and at the moment New England look the more likley of the two teams to make a deep playoff run.

Patriots vs. Bills

It’s the Game of the Week and maybe the Game of the Regular season from Buffalo as we get set for an AFC East showdown between the Bills and the resurgent New England Patriots to end Week 13 in the NFL. AS English will have you covered on up to the minute stats, scores, highlights and analysis of tonight’s monster matchup from Highmark Stadium.
