The Kings' point guard might find himself on one side of a Ben Simmons deal, but how does he feel about that?

Could the Sacramento Kings trade De'Aaron Fox for Ben Simmons

With the NBA trade deadline less than a month away, it's clutch time in the market. While there are plenty of potential deals, it would be silly not to mention the scenario involving Ben Simmons. The All-Star point guard expressed his desire to leave in the offseason and since that moment has been the center of intense speculation. Yet, here and now the focus isn't Simmons, but rather the player for whom - it is rumored - he may be traded. De'Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings is the latest player to be mentioned in connection with Simmons.

The Kings and Sixers had a chat

According to reports the Sixers and Kings held a meeting recently to discuss a deal involving Simmons and Fox. It should be noted, however, that the Sixers are not interseted in Fox, to the extent that in order for a deal to be accepted it would more than likely involve another team as well as guarantees on future draft picks. For the moment, the situation is in limbo. Then there is also Philadelphia's interest in Tyrese Maxey. In his 3rd year in the league, the guard has definitely caught the eye of the Sixers. What's more is not only does he possess similar attributes to Fox, but he's significantly younger.

Traded? De'Aaron Fox gives his thoughts

Though the focus will undoubtedly be on Simmons given the ongoing feud that he has with Philadelphia, the Kings guard De'Aaron Fox gave an interesting insight into what it might be like to be traded from one team to another.

"You definitely think about potentially being traded because we are struggling," Fox said recently, via Yahoo. "If you do have a change of scenery, it changes everything. I've been here for five years. I've built a life here, a family here. But once I'm on the court, all that is out the window. You're not thinking about anything else that can happen outside of your control. But I've been through some deadlines. I've seen people get traded at the last second. You try not to think about it, but you know it's a business and anything can happen. I'm not sure what's going to happen. Obviously, you see reports on Twitter. Am I worried about it? No. Can it happen? Yeah, it can definitely happen."
