Bryan Reynolds joins Belgian club KV Kortrijk
The United States men’s national team right back will have a fresh opportunity with the Belgian side for the rest of the season.
Since José Mourinho took over the managerial job at AS Roma, Bryan Reynolds has only played one minute in Serie A in the current season. The United States men’s national team right back was desperately looking to switch teams during the January transfer window and now he found a new opportunity.
Reynolds will play in Belgium
On Sunday the Serie A side confirmed that Reynolds will join Belgium’s Kortrijk for the remainder of the current season. This is also good news for the coach of the United States men’s national team, Gregg Berhlater, because he can continue monitoring the development of Reynolds in Europe.
Now the right back will have a chance to fight for a spot on the roster for the first international window of the year. The USMNT have three crucial games in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying in late January and Reynolds could now make the cut
At the beginning of the winter window, it appeared that the 20-year-old was going to sign with Anderlecht, who are managed by former Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany, but Kortrijk won the race. Reynolds becomes the third American to play for Kortrijk with Brendan Hines-Ike and Erik Palmer-Brown playing there in the past.
