Manchester City keen on DC United’s Kevin Paredes
The 18-year-old had a breakout season in MLS with three goals and one assist, earning a nomination for the Young Player of the Year award.
Kevin Paredes impressed during the 2021 Major League Soccer season, chipping in three goals and an assist for DC United. The 18-year-old was nominated for the Young Player of the Year award and has attracted the interest of at least two European clubs.
DC United has one offer on the table
According to multiple reports, Paredes is on the radar of Manchester City and Wolfsburg, But the Bundesliga side seem to be in pole position to sign the defender as they have submitted an offer to DC United.
The MLS side has reportedly put a price tag of almost $9 million on the teenager and there are ongoing talks between the clubs. Manchester City have enquired about Paredes and tabled an offer of around $3.5 million, but DC United said it wasn’t enough.
Paredes has emerged as one of the most promising prospects in Major League Soccer since making his debut in 2020. Last campaign he made 24 appearances, 19 as a starter. He is also being monitored by the coach of the USMNT, Gregg Berhalter, who has called him to join several training camps, but he has yet to earn his first senior cap.
