Cristiano Ronaldo complains about market valuation and asks for an explanation

Transfermarkt valued Ronaldo at £67.5 million when he was playing for Juve and he complained on Instagram. "He said he should be worth more," the website revealed.

Jamie Carragher was recently on the receiving end of a message from Lionel Messi, after the Sky Sports pundit had doubted whether his move from Barcelona to PSG had been a good one. When Cristiano Ronaldo saw his market valuation on the website, Transfermarkt, he let the company know what he felt by sending them a direct message on Instagram.

The Manchester United forward sent a message asking for an explanation for the market value he had been given. They valued him at £67.5 million when he was playing with Juventus in Serie A. He was ranked fourth in Serie A behind Christian Eriksen, Lautaro Martinez and Paulo Dybala.

Cristiano angry over market value

In Transfermarkt's latest publication, they placed Cristiano at the top of the list of players aged 33 and over. Despite the fact that he was top of the pile, the Portuguese veteran was angry as he expected to have a better market valuation. The company's UK manager, Dani Busch, told The Athletic: "We put a list on Instagram of 10 players, aged 33 and over, and Ronaldo still came first in value, but he said he must be worth a lot more."

Another employee of the firm said the message was for "the social media guys". The United player, once again, showed his discontent on social media. With Cristiano and Messi both entering the twilight years of their careers, they may be beginning to see the downward curve appear and are not quite ready to feel the beginning of the end just yet.
