Ousmane Dembélé is still a Barcelona player. With just hours remaining in the January transfer window, a couple of European clubs are hoping to finally secure his services.

Talks between Barcelona, Xavi, Dembélé and his representatives have been ongoing for weeks without a definitive result. Xavi has said that the 24-year-old could eventually become the "best in his position", however it has been a hugely frustrating time for the winger at Camp Nou and it could be about to come to an end.

PSG reach verbal agreement with Dembélé

PSG are currently in talks with the Catalan outfit over a last-minute move to the French capital. Foot Mercato report that Dembélé has a verbal agreement in place with the Ligue 1 club, which makes them the favourites to sign him in the coming hours. PSG sporting director Leonardo has reportedly been key in helping the player agree to join the Parisians. Now it is up to the two clubs to reach a full agreement, with the La Liga club wanting €20 million.

The player's agents have been in contact with several clubs in recent months, including Newcastle and Tottenham. According to Spanish journalist Helena Condis, Spurs made an offer for Dembélé today but don't have the ability to cover the player's fees along with his agent's fees.

Barcelona boost squad

If PSG are unable to get the deal over the line on 31 January, Dembélé could spend the rest of the season watching from the sidelines at Camp Nou. Barça have bolstered their forward line in the past month, bringing in Ferran Torres from Manchester City and Adama Traoré on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.
