Like father like son, as the saying goes. Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Manchester United last summer in an emotional homecoming that hasn’t gone entirely to plan, the Portugal captain said to be considering his options as life under Ralf Rangnick fails to live up to expectations at Old Trafford. Ronaldo was on the verge of joining Manchester City when Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly made a phone call, persuading the Juventus star to return to his old stomping ground instead. Now, United have two Cristiano Ronaldos as part of the bargain: the Premier League club have signed Cristiano Ronaldo Junior for the academy, where he will also wear the number 7 shirt.

Cristiano Jr was presented at Old Trafford alongside Ronaldo’s partner, Georgina Rodríguez, and his three siblings.

Cristiano Junior, 11, also played at Juventus during Ronaldo’s three-year stay in Turin and showed that he shares his father’s eye for goal, several local newspapers reporting that he scored 58 times and provided 18 assists in 28 games for the Juve youth teams.
