Raúl Jiménez scores fifth goal of the season for Wolves

Since Diogo Jota joined Liverpool last year and Adama Traoré signed for Barcelona last month, Raúl Jiménez has been the man in charge of scoring for Wolves this campaign. The Mexican international scored the opening goal for Wolves on Sunday against Tottenham to give them the lead in the sixth minute.

Jiménez the top scorer for Wolves

Jiménez controlled the ball with his chest inside the box and smashed it past Hugo Lloris with his right foot from close range to score his fifth goal of the season. A few minutes later, Leander Dendoncker scored for the visiting team to secure the points and the much needed win for the team managed by Bruno Lage.

Jiménez already surpassed the four goals he scored last year, mainly because he was out for several months due to the head injury he suffered that made him miss the entire second part of the season. The Mexican international hadn’t scored for Wolves since 15 January when his team defeated Southampton 3-1.

The other goals from the Mexican international this season have been against Everton and West Ham United. Also, this campaign he has made 21 Premier League appearances, 20 as a starter, and provided two assists.
