The NBA All-Star 2022 will see the best players of the league facing off in the game between East and West. Although this match is the highlight of this weekend, Saturday night will be one to watch out for, as it offers three exciting competitions showcasing the players’ particular athletic skills.

The night before the All-Star Game, select players will compete in the skills challenge, the three-point contest, and the slam dunk contest. These tournaments have been a staple at the NBA All-Star Weekend for the past years.

Other NBA stories:

NBA All-Star Skills Challege

The Skills Challenge starts off the night, and will see players going through an obstacle course that will spotlight their abilities in dribbling, passing, and shooting. This year will have three teams competing in the newest event, which only began in 2003.

NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest

Next up is the three-point competition that features an additional special attraction- two extra shots that go well beyond the usual 3-point line. This contest started in 1986, and has been won by NBA legends such as Larry Bird, Ray Allen, and Stephen Curry.

NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Contest

The most-awaited event of the night is the slam dunk contest, where the players execute their fanciest, flashiest, snazziest dunk. NBA greats who have clinched this trophy include Dominique Wilkins, Vince Carter, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan.
