During the Boston Celtics’ 107-98 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, Jaylen Hawks exited the game after rolling his ankle. The injury was not bad enough though, as Brown attempted to go back into the game after being able to walk himself to the locker room.

The Celtics’ coach Ime Udoka said Brown missed Wednesday’s practice due to the injury, and that he is “unlikelyto play in Thursday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Udoka also added that while Brown has some swelling and pain in his right ankle, he is not expected to stay out for a long time. That’s good news for the Boston team that can’t be without Brown for long. With 18 games left this season and the Celtics tied with the Raptors in the loss column for the No. 6 seed, Boston needs as much of Brown as they can get.

We’re going to be smart at this point of the season regardless,” Udoka said. “It’s a matter of swelling and pain tolerance at some point. The fact that it’s not Grade 2, 3 tear or whatever where ligaments have been torn obviously bodes well for him. It’s a little bit different than a muscular injury where you have to kind of take your time on that. It’s really about pain tolerance and getting the swelling out and flexibility back in.”
