Ukraine braces for more Russian attacks

The chaotic scene at Ukraine’s central train station in Kyiv: people running, dogs barking, children crying, as the country braces for more Russian strikes.

Update:
Ukraine braces for more Russian attacks

The Russian attacks on Ukraine , which have been going on for about a week now, have not gone to plan, as Ukrainian troops and citizen soldiers have helped stop Russia from capturing a single Ukrainian city.

Russia expected to intensify attacks, Ukraine preparing for it

Now, Ukraine is bracing for more attacks by Russian forces. President Vlodymyr Zelenskyy warns that the capital city of Kyiv is still Russia’s primary target. After the resistance Russia has encountered, they are expected to intensify attacks as they try to seize Kyiv.

Thousands of citizens of Ukraine have been fleeing or attempting to flee the country as the 40-mile long Russian convoy advances. As Ukraine is not a member of NATO, they have been fighting this battle alone. Zelenskyy called on the U.S. to help. The U.S. military alliance sent weapons to Kyiv after Zelenskyy’s blatant request for more ammunition. U.S. president Joe Biden said in his State of the Union address that the U.S. would close its airspace to Russian aviation, effective immediately. They’ve also agreed to convene a task force which would “freeze and seize the assets of key Russian elites”.
