Dutch referee Danny Makkelie has been designated by UEFA as match official for Wednesday's Champions League Round of 16 second-leg clash at the Santiago Bernabéu between Real Madrid and PSG. The French side take a slender 1-0 advantage into the second leg.

Neither the Spanish or French giants have lost in a game with the Dutch official in charge with the Rotterdam born famed for a permissive style of officiating issuing on average just 3.5 yellow cards in all his 34 Champions League games.
Wednesday's game will be the first time the 39-year-old has refereed at the Bernabéu and was in the limelight when he oversaw the 2019-20 Europa League final as Sevilla beat Inter. Makkelie has been FIFA listed since 2011.
