Chelsea hit with Abramovich sanctions
The UK government has announced sanctions against Russian Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich due to his ties with Russian president Vladimir Putin.

After several threats to freeze Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's assets, the UK has officially sanctioned the Russian billionaire and frozen all his UK assets.
The move comes amidst part of an action against any oligarchs with connections to Russian president Vladimir Putin. Abramovich attempted to sell the Premier League soccer club just last week, but now that has been put on hold.
