The 76th Tony Awards: preview

The Tony Awards is an event that recognizes excellence in live Broadway theater. It is organized by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. The event is expected to attract prominent personalities and notable fashion moments. Ariana DeBose has been announced as the host for the ceremony. She will be joining a group of 19 other individuals who have previously hosted the Tonys more than once over the course of its 76-year history.

There are 26 different nominations. An impartial panel of 40 theater experts designated by the Tony Awards Administration Committee chose the nominations.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play candidates include Jessica Chastain, Jodie Comer, Jessica Hecht, and Audra McDonald. Wendell Pierce, Yahya Abdul-Mateen 2nd, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Sean Hayes, and Corey Hawkins are all up for the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play.
