Blake Lively is overwhelmed with excitement, as the ‘Gossip Girl’ star is just as thrilled as her husband, Ryan Reynolds, after Wrexham AFC secured promotion to the Football League after a 15-year absence.

The Reynolds family has gone to great lengths to invest time and money in the North Wales soccer club, and have even purchased real estate in the region to be closer to the Wrexham home pitch, the Racecourse Grounds — where Reynolds and McElhenney are building a brand new fan stand.

Lively celebrates Wrexham win

The video of Reynolds and McElhenney celebrating wearing their medals and hosting the team’s trophy went viral, as the pair of Hollywood actor’s emotional reaction to the win was evident. Their moving response to their team’s win seems to have inspired audiences on a global scale.

While all cameras were on the field post-win on Saturday, where the players were joined by co-owners Reynolds and McElhenney, Lively was celebrating behind the scenes.

Lively posted to her Instagram stories on Monday to celebrate Wrexham’s famous win.

Upon sharing the clip of Reynolds and McElhenney to her 39.3 million followers, the actress announced it as her “favorite video of the whole day”.

She congratulated her husband, McElhenney, the players, and “every single person in Wrexham” who helped make their “seemingly impossible dreams come true”.

“What a day. What a year. What a lifetime,” Lively marveled. “This is my kind of fairytale…”

Canadian-born Reynolds and fellow Hollywood actor McElhenney bought Wrexham in 2021 following intense discussions and a number of lofty promises, including leading the team to enough wins to achieve promotion to the pro leagues.
