Demi Lovato reveals the message Joe Jonas sent her for their surprise on-stage reunion: “It was healing.”

This weekend was full of nostalgia for everyone who grew up with the Disney Channel. In addition to the premiere of the sequel to Freaky Friday, pop culture experienced one of the most anticipated reunions between the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato, who rose to fame after starring in “Camp Rock” in 2008.

The reunion took place on Sunday night at the opening concert of the band’s 20th anniversary tour, held at MetLife Stadium in their native New Jersey.

After showing a short video about their days in “Camp Rock,” the trio announced Demi as their special guest. The former Disney girl took the stage before a wild crowd to sing the film’s hits “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”

Just days away from one of the most iconic moments in pop culture, Demi Lovato has revealed the text message she received from her ex-partner Joe Jonas, inviting her to the show:

“He was like, ‘Hey, what are you doing next weekend, the 10th? We would love for you to come and perform “This Is Me” and “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.”You’ve been such a huge part of our journey and vice versa… This show is so important to us and we would love to have you there,’” Demi told the “Chicks in the Office” podcast.

Throughout the conversation, Demi explains that singing with the Jonas Brothers again after almost a decade without seeing each other was something “really healing.”

“It was really nice, and like I said, it was also very healing for me. We’ve been through a lot together, the Jonas Brothers and I, and it was really great to spend time with them,” she noted. “They thanked me so much for flying across the country to perform with them, and it was such a thoughtful gesture. I felt so appreciated, and it was really healing for us. I loved it; every second of it was wonderful.”

Demi concluded her anecdote by revealing that both Nick and Joe visited her dressing room before the show. In fact, the superstar confessed that the duo took the time to get to know her husband, Jordan Lutes.
