Donald Glover cancels Childish Gambino’s US tour: What happens if you had tickets?

Donald Glover announced on Friday that he has canceled the rest of the Childish Gambino ‘The New World Tour’ concert dates in the United States as well as the United Kingdom and Europe.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, he explained the reason behind the unfortunate news for his fans. “After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to make sure of an ailment that had become apparent,” he said.

“After being assessed, it became clear I would not perform that night, and after more tests, I could not perform the rest of the US tour in the time asked. As of now I have surgery scheduled and need time out to heal,” Glover added. “My path to recovery is something I need to confront seriously.  With that said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour and the UK and European dates.”

The multi-talented artist informed his fans back in September that he was postponing his upcoming concerts in North America to focus on his physical health for a few weeks with the intention of rescheduling. However, with this latest news it is unclear when he will be able to continue the tour but he said, “I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and perform.”

However, for those who have tickets for the now canceled concert dates they won’t be left high and dry. “Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase,” he said.

The Grammy Award-winning artist did not share the specific health concern that he is afflicted with. But until he is back to full health he thanked his fans for giving him privacy as well as their love and support.
