Ellen Pompeo comes clean about all of the money she made on “Grey’s Anatomy”
Here’s how much money Ellen Pompeo made for her role in Grey’s Anatomy.

For years, Grey’s Anatomy was the go-to show for not just many Americans but people all over the world.
With its star-studded cast and fascinating plot, the drama began back on March 27, 2005, when Candy Shop by 50 Cent was top of the Billboard Charts.
Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) was the star of the show when it launched with the pilot episode “A Hard Day’s Night“, and has gone on to become one of the most recognisable faces in the world of television.
With great fame, to sound like a superhero who’s lost their way, comes great money, and Pompeo sure made a lot of it. And she’s been very open about that fact, admitting previously that a reason she has remained on the show - albeit now in a lesser role - is the financial security it provides.

‘Financial security’ the best thing about Grey’s Anatomy
When on the Jemele Hill Is Unbothered podcast, Pompeo admitted that “I made a decision to make money, and not chase creative acting roles. I don’t like chasing anything ever, and acting to me, in my experience, was a lot of chasing. Although I produce, and it’s the same kind of thing, I think I do it from a place of, I’m never that thirsty because I’m financially set.”
And ‘financially set’ she is, as Pompeo was reportedly making $575,000 per episode in 2018.
That was then, and it’s the same now. In an interview with People, Pompeo was once again asked about her finances, replying: “The best thing is the financial security if I’m being very honest. It’s been really lucrative, and I think financial security is not something that every actress is afforded, so I’m very grateful for that,” she said.
