Emily Blunt gained her first Oscar nomination at this year’s Academy Awards gala for her performance as Kitty Oppenheimer, in Christopher Nolan’s drama. She just missed out on the Best Supporting Actress award, which went to Da’Vine Joy Randolph (The Holdovers). Her electric portrayal of Robert Oppenheimer’s wife did however see her win other industry gongs, including the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture at the 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards and Best Supporting Actress at the Satum Awards.

Recently turned 41, Emily Blunt is one of the most versatile performers of her generation. Born in southwest London, the British actress made her professional debut when she was still a student. She did so in ‘Bliss’, the musical written by Paul Sellar that was presented at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2000.
