Everything you need to know about the Saturday Night Live Season 51 finale: Time, host and musical guests

Season 51 of Saturday Night Live comes to an end this evening. comedian Will Ferrell will host the 20th episode of the late night comedy show, and is already a fully signed-up member of the eminent Five-Timers Club.

Ferrell becomes the 29th person to host the program five times or more, joining the likes of Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Bill Murray, Tina Fey, Ben Affleck and Co.

He made his SNL debut as a cast member in 1995 and hosted the show for the first time in May 2005 with Queens of the Stone Age and the musical guests. His fourth appearance as the host was in episode 12 of Season 43 in January 2018.

Maybe I’m amazed

Providing the musical entertain this evening will be a living legend - none other than Sir Paul McCartney.

Macca recently dropped Days We Left Behind - the first single off his new album The Boys of Dungeon Lane which is due to be released on May 29.

The former Beatle has made several appearances on SNL over the years, both performing an in cameo roles. His debut came in May 1980, not long after his infamous drugs bust in Tokyo. Caught in possession of a small quantity of marijuana at Narita airport, Paul spent nine days in jail. And SNL’s cast wasn’t going to let him forget it... Fortunately, Paul saw the funny side. He appeared with his wife Linda in a video link from London, where he performed his latest single, Coming Up.

McCartney made subsequent appearances in 1993, 2010, 2012 and the in 40th and 50th anniversary specials.

Tonight’s episode of SNL airs on NBC and Peacock, starting at 11:30 p.m. EST / 8:30 p.m. PST.
