Farewell to Paramount channels, including CBS, from YouTube TV
Some fans are going to be shocked, or at least initially confused, when they find some of their favorite viewing options have disappeared.

In the fast-paced world of streaming, one thing is certain: change is inevitable.
Starting today, Thursday, February 13, YouTube TV subscribers are in for a rude awakening as popular channels like CBS, Nickelodeon, and MTV disappear from their lineups. This comes due to a heated contract dispute between YouTube TV and Paramount Global, the parent company of these networks.
For our members: We work hard to bring you the content you love, delivered the way you want. Despite our best efforts, we’ve been unable to reach a fair deal with Paramount to keep their channels on YouTube TV and their channels may be unavailable tomorrow.…

Why are Paramount channels disappearing?
Paramount has accused YouTube TV of pushing “one-sided terms” and “non-market demands,” leading to the removal of its channels. In a statement, a Paramount spokesperson said, “We have made a series of fair offers to continue our long-standing relationship with Google’s YouTube TV.”
On the other side, YouTube TV, owned by Alphabet, has vowed to fight for its subscribers. The company claims it’s actively negotiating with Paramount to restore the channels without disrupting service, although this clearly isn’t working. In the meantime, YouTube TV is offering subscribers an $8 credit if the channels remain unavailable for an extended period – a small consolation for frustrated viewers.
If no agreement is reached for an extended time, we’ll offer members an $8 credit. You can watch Paramount shows/movies on the Paramount+ streaming service, starting at $7.99/mo. For more info: https://t.co/RitZK7BkgT. (3/3)

CBS with the big news:
This isn’t the first time YouTube TV subscribers have faced disruptions of late.
Just two months ago, in December 2024, the service raised its monthly subscription price by $10, bringing the total cost to $82.99 per month. The company blamed rising content costs, but the move sparked backlash from subscribers, many of whom compared the service’s pricing to traditional cable packages.
