The late-night host’s year-end blowout is exactly as chaotic as you’d expect.

Here’s what we know about the ‘John Oliver’s Junk’ auction: What’s for sale, dates and where the proceeds go

John Oliver has found a new way to support public broadcasting, and predictably, it involves chaos, questionable taste, and at least one pair of golden sneakers. His year-end ‘John Oliver’s Junk’ auction is now live, offering up a grab bag of beloved oddities from Last Week Tonight to help local TV and radio stations battered by federal funding cuts.
Oliver’s fundraiser built on absolute nonsense
Instead of a solemn telethon, Oliver opted to empty the show’s prop closet. The result is a 65-item lineup that feels like someone mashed up Antiques Roadshow with a fever dream.
What’s on offer in Oliver’s Junk auction?
Bidding has already surged for an original Bob Ross painting, one of the few items that could be described as genuinely tasteful. Much of the rest can be better described as weird: Russell Crowe’s famously acquired jockstrap, a waxy assortment of mock presidents, the cabbage “wife” created during an AI segment, and a wine label only Oliver could defend. Check out the rest of the items in the video above.
The auction runs through November 24, with all proceeds funneled to the Public Media Bridge Fund. Oliver used his episode to remind viewers that small stations keep communities informed, particularly during emergencies. If a pile of bizarre memorabilia can help them stay alive, he seems more than happy to part with it.
