“Sinners,” Ryan Coogler’s vampire drama, and “One Battle After Another," Paul Thomas Anderson’s black comedy starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, will go head-to-head for several Oscars at the 98th Academy Awards, including Best Picture.

“Sinners” has received 16 nominations in all, breaking the all-time Oscar record, which had been anticipated. “All About Eve” (1950), “Titanic” (1997) and “La La Land” (2016) held the previous record with 14.

“One Battle After Another” follows close behind on 13, while “Marty Supreme,” “Frankenstein” and “Sentimental Value” are all up for nine prizes, also including Best Picture.
