Killers of the Flower Moon
Martin Scorsese masterfully narrates the 'Reign of Terror' in 1920s America. Crafting an atmosphere filled with murder and vengeance, he delivers an epic three-and-a-half-hour cinematic journey.

Another of Scorsese's works is nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. Out of his films, ten have been contenders for the top honor, though only 'The Departed' clinched the win in 2006. Despite being nominated in ten different categories this time, it seems the grand prize may elude him once again. With his tenth nomination for Best Director, Scorsese breaks several records. He has a second Oscar for directing 'The Departed' (a modest count given his extensive and illustrious career). At 81, he becomes the oldest director ever nominated for an Oscar.

Scorsese has been a contender across five different decades, amassing a total of 22 nominations, including two for Best Screenplay: 'Goodfellas' and 'The Age of Innocence'. Only William Wyler, with 12 nominations, surpasses Scorsese for Best Director nods.

Paramount and Apple are behind Scorsese's latest project. Apple previously tasted Oscar glory with 'CODA' (2021), and one of its major successes is the series 'Ted Lasso'. For Paramount, it marks a reunion with Scorsese after 'The Irishman'.

Paramount has won the Oscar for Best Picture twelve times, holding the second-highest number of nominations and wins with masterpieces like 'The Godfather', 'Terms of Endearment', 'Forrest Gump', 'Braveheart', 'Titanic', and 'Saving Private Ryan'.

Leonardo DiCaprio teams up with Scorsese once again. This is their sixth collaboration, though their first since 'The Wolf of Wall Street'. It all began with 'Gangs of New York', followed by 'The Aviator', 'The Departed', and 'Shutter Island'.

DiCaprio's absence from the Best Actor category has raised eyebrows. For now, he must be content with his six nominations and a sole win for 'The Revenant'. Few remember his first nomination was in 1994 for 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape'.

In 'Killers of the Flower Moon', Scorsese also reunites with another of his favored actors: Robert De Niro, earning his eighth nomination across five different decades. De Niro has won twice: for 'Raging Bull', with Scorsese, and previously for 'The Godfather Part II'.

Scorsese's films are a magnet for actor nominations, tallying 26. Among his achievements is directing Paul Newman in the only performance that earned Newman an Oscar for Best Actor: 'The Color of Money'.

One of the film's highlights is Lily Gladstone's performance, nominated for Best Actress. This marks the first time a Native American actress has been nominated, competing against the formidable Emma Stone.

Scorsese's career wouldn't be the same without Thelma Schoonmaker. His go-to film editor is up for her fourth award, surpassing even the director himself. She first gained acclaim with 'Raging Bull' in 1981, later winning again for 'The Aviator' and 'The Departed', at 84 years old.
