Madonna’s ‘The Celebration Tour’ sells out in minutes, prompting singer to add more dates
Madonna continues to announce more show dates for her largest tour yet.
Madonna announced her 40th anniversary ‘The Celebration Tour’ earlier this month, and due to increased interest, she’s adding to it. The singer has added 13 new shows across North America, and additional dates include stops in Toronto, Montreal, Seattle, Chicago, Boston, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and New York City.
Madonna likely isn’t done adding dates to her tour either. After ticket sales began on January 20, she has since added two additional shows in NYC alone at the infamous Madison Square Garden Venue, a place where she’ss performed plenty of times before. The singer will be in NYC on August 23, 24, 26, as well as the recently added show on the 27.
New York City has quite a bit of significance to the star. When she was just 19 years old, Madonna moved to The Big Apple from her native Michigan before her rise to fame. One of her first apartments at 232 E 4th Street in Manhattan is a popular tourist attraction.
The North American leg of the tour will start on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver and will conclude on October 8 in Las Vegas. The European leg of the tour will make stops in Paris, Milan, Berlin, and Barcelona, before concluding in Amsterdam on December 1. The singer also added two more additional dates at the O2 Arena in London and extra stops in Paris, Barcelona, and Milan.
Tour Guests
The tour will feature several notable guests: Diplo, Judd Apatow, Lil Wayne, Jack Black, Bob The Drag Queen, Eric Andre, Meg Stalter, and Larry Owens. The tour will be highlighting her extensive and successful catalog of music from the last 40 years. The year 2023 marks 40 years since Madonna released her first studio album, self-titled and released on July 27, 1983.
The Celebration Tour will be Madonna’s biggest tour yet, with over 60 dates so far. It may be one of her most successful tours as well, because as of January 20, the tour was 98 percent sold out. Madonna is no stranger to successful and long touring seasons, as her 2008-2009 Sticky & Sweet Tour sold 3.5 million tickets and grossed $407.7 million. Almost 15 years later, the tour remains the highest-grossing tour by a woman ever.
Although ticket sales have begun already, sales for additional dates won’t start until January 27. The complete list of tour dates can be found on Madonna.com.
