Matt Damon took the opportunity to call out Jimmy Kimmel while at his movie premiere Monday night.

Damon’s new movie, ‘Air’, produced alongside friend Ben Affleck with their new publishing company, Artists Equity, premiered Monday night in Los Angeles.

Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel: love or war?

Kimmel and Damon have been friends for a long time, but usually have more jibes and criticism than love for each other.

On the red carpet at the movie screening Monday, the frienemies had words which led to Damon commenting to Entertainment Weekly about Kimmel’s character.

When asked if he was ready to make amends with Jimmy Kimmel, the ‘We Bought A Zoo’ actor vehemently declined.

“No, no, he’s an a--hole,” Damon said. “Why would I ever do that? He’s a terrible human being. He’s a demonstrably bad man.”

Running out of time

Kimmel appeared behind him and Damon said he wanted a picture with him.

“Hey! I’d love to take a picture with you but we ran out of time!” Damon said, turning and laughing.

The joke comes from Kimmel’s usual response on his talk show when a guest is going overtime, as he always ends up apologizing to Damon for being out of time and therefore cannot get to his appearance.

“You know, I don’t know who that was, but yeah, I heard him. He was loud,” he chirped to Entertainment Weekly.

Damon, Kimmel, and the Oscars

Kimmel, who hosted the 2023 Oscars on March 12, told People Magazine that Damon was his nemesis and was glad that Damon was not planning to attend the awards ceremony that year, and even blamed the ‘Good Will Hunting’ actor for the envelope mix-up in 2017 when the wrong Best Picture winner was announced.

“I’m thrilled that he won’t show,” Kimmel deadpanned. “I hope he never gets nominated again.”

“I believe that his presence in some way caused the envelope mixup,” Kimmel said, looking sideways.
