One of Netflix’s most popular shows leaves after 13 years
With more than 300 episodes and an astonishing 15 seasons, the Eric Kripke-created ‘Supernatural’ will soon depart.

It’s the end of an era. Supernatural was one of television’s longest-running hits. The series features two brothers hunting demons, ghosts and various other-worldly beings and spanned an impressive 15 seasons.
The show was created by Eric Kripke and ran for an incredible 327 episodes between 2005 and 2020. Now, five years after its finale, it’s getting ready to leave Netflix.

The series has been available on the platform since 2012 but it will depart Netflix in the United States on December 18.
Supernatural continues to resonate with longtime fans and newcomers alike, thanks in part to Kripke’s ongoing influence in television. He’s also the creator of The Boys, one of Amazon Prime Video’s biggest hits.
That series has become a reunion of sorts for Supernatural alumni. Jensen Ackles joined the cast as Soldier Boy, and both Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins are set to appear in the final season. It’s a fitting nod from Kripke, who clearly hasn’t forgotten the show — or the actors — that helped launch his career.
In 2012, Supernatural was listed at No. 19 in Entertainment Weekly’s “25 Best Cult TV Shows from the Past 25 Years”. More than a decade on, the show still boasts legions of fans and a near-endless back catalogue.
