In 2013, one of those series that amasses a following of millions of fans came to television, ‘Peaky Blinders’. The show ran until 2022 and stars Cillian Murphy who takes on the role of the leader of a Birmingham family gang, Thomas Shelby. The Irish actor is now riding a wave at the moment having been nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars for his role in ‘Oppenheimer’.

In ‘Peaky Blinders’ you can also enjoy other characters such as Arthur Shelby, one of the brothers of the protagonist, who is played by Paul Anderson. An actor who recently occupied the media spotlight for less prestigious reasons, he was tried and convicted of drug use and possession in London.

Now, just a few weeks later, the actor has been captured by photographers in London and those images were published in the ‘New York Post’. Looking at the pictures of the “disheveled” star he appears totally deteriorated, unrecognizable, from what he looked like in the series which made him famous.

Concern on the networks about his condition

From social networks, such as Messages like “I hope he gets the help he needs”; “This man looks bad”; “He needs rehabilitation.”

And that may be the case as it was a few weeks ago when the actor was convicted of consuming drugs following events that took place in December 2023. On Boxing Day Anderson visited a pub in north west London where a customer complained in about the smell of crack cocaine smoke coming from the disabled toilet after the actor left it.

The police were called and the actor was taken to the police station, where the agents found crack cocaine and a wrapper with a brown powder that was amphetamines and the prescription drugs diazepam and pregabalin. The interpreter himself ended up pleading guilty and was fined a equivalent of roughly $1,700 dollars.

His lawyer, Moira MacFarlane, confessed that everything happened when a group of fans asked him to put himself into the character he plays in ‘Peaky Blinders’: “He is often recognized and does his best to please fans of the show by slipping into character. He was recognized that Boxing Day and tried to play up for these people. And because of the lifestyle he leads people often give him inducements.”
