Pedro Pascal steals the show at the SNL50 special as Domingo’s brother and in ‘Close Encounters’ sketch
The ‘Narcos’ star appeared with Woody Harrelson, Kate McKinnon and Meryl Streep in two of the most popular sketches of SNL 50.

The commemorative Sunday edition of “Saturday Night Live” celebrated 50 seasons being on the air with a special tribute show which included appearances and performances from several heavy hitting celebrity superstars.
The show included the likes of major Hollywood names such as: Eddie Murphy, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Ryan Reynolds, Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell with Paul Simon and Sabrina Carpenter kick-starting the special with a version of Simon and Garfunkel’s “Homeward Bound”.
The song debuted on the 1966 album “Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme”, and Simon performed it on SNL 10 years later, along with Beatles great George Harrison. Carpenter joked that neither she nor her parents were born back then.
Pascal shines
One of the most acclaimed sketches from the SNL 50 special was the ‘Close Encounters’ five minute sketch as four characters played by Pedro Pascal, Woody Harrelson, Kate McKinnon, Meryl Streep relayed their inter galactic experience with Aidy Bryant and Jon Hamm playing the roles of the interviewing duo.
