Selena Gomez says she’s single despite rumors she’s dating Drew Taggart of ‘The Chainsmokers’
The two have been spotted together recently, but Selena Gomez made her relationship status clear via an Instagram post.
In a since-deleted Instagram stories post, singer and actress Selena Gomez claims she is single despite rumors circulating that she is involved with Drew Taggart of ‘The Chainsmokers’. The post featured a black-and-white image of a mountain landscape and an unidentified man with the words “#iamsingle” and “I like being alone too much.”
This post came shortly after Gomez and Taggart were spotting bowling together in New York City. Page Six reports that an eyewitness spotted the duo was “making out like teenagers enjoying some alone time.”
The two continue to be seen together
Since Gomez’s Instagram announcement, sightings of the two have only increased. Just two days after denying the dating rumors, Gomez and Haggart were seen leaving a restaurant in Soho while holding hands.
Earlier this month a source told US Weekly that the two are in fact dating. The source explained: “They aren’t trying to hide their romance by sneaking around at members-only clubs,” while noting that the pair are “very casual and low-key.” Haggart and his team have refrained from commenting on the relationship speculation.
Past Relationships
Taggart’s relationship with Gomez comes four months after a brief relationship with Steve Jobs’ youngest daughter, Eve Jobs. Gomez on the other hand has remained relatively quiet about her relationship status following her breakup with Justin Bieber in March of 2018, after the couple dated on and off since 2011.
Although she generally keeps a low profile when it comes to her relationship status, Gomez opened up about it back in May 2022 when she hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time. “One reason I’ve been very happy to host is because I’m single,” Gomez said during the show’s opening monologue. “And I’ve heard SNL is a great place to find romance.”
Later in November, she touched on past relationships in her documentary ‘Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me’ and appeared to talk very publicly about her longest relationship with Justin Bieber, despite not mentioning him by name.
“I felt haunted by a past relationship that no one wanted to let go of,” Gomez states. “But then I just moved past it. I wasn’t afraid anymore.” She added: “I feel like I had to go through the worst possible heartbreak ever. I just think that needed to happen, and ultimately, it was the best thing that ever happened to me.”
