They hint at Arnold Schwarzenegger’s return to the saga after ‘Predator: Badlands’: “It would be great”
The producer of ‘Predator: Badlands’ acknowledges conversations between the director, Dan Trachtenberg, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, regarding the actor’s return.

Any film featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1980s was practically guaranteed success. Combine that with graphic violence and a deadly alien, and you get such an explosive mix that Predator (1987) spawned a franchise lasting almost forty years.
Despite all the sequels and spin-offs that have followed, the character played by Austrian actor Alan “Dutch” Schaefer is still missed. Now, thanks to the producer of Predator: Badlands, we know that director Daniel Trachtenberg and the legendary actor have already discussed the possibility of his return.
“Obviously, the holy grail of the Predator movies would be Arnold’s return, and that’s always been something we’ve kept in mind,” said producer Ben Rosenblatt in an interview. “It would be great to see him come back to the franchise he made iconic, and that made him an icon.”
‘PREDATOR: BADLANDS’ debuts with 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, the third highest rated Predator movie ever.

“It’s been really wonderful. Arnold and Dan have met a couple of times, and he’s a real fan of what we’ve done so far,” Rosenblatt continued, confirming those conversations. “After the release of Predator: Badlands, we’ll see. Hopefully, we’ll have the opportunity to do something with Arnold. That would be great.”
Recently, a cameo by Dutch was spotted in Predator: Killer of Killers, appearing in a post-credits scene that pays tribute to the saga’s origins.
Predator: Badlands shifts the franchise’s formula in several ways—not least by making the Yautja, for the first time, the good guy. It’s also the first film in the series to carry a PEGI 13 rating, meaning the violence is noticeably toned down compared to earlier instalments. Even so, the film is off to a strong start, holding an impressive 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
“A thrilling action film at times, with surprising touches of comedy and emotional depth,” wrote NYC Movie Guru. “Elle Fanning is sensational, as is newcomer Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as Dek. Dan Trachtenberg delivers a highly entertaining piece of science fiction and fantasy,” added Beyond The Trailer.
