This is what Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson looks like at 57 years old
Anderson has received her first ever Golden Globe nomination for “The Last Showgirl,” 30 years after her starring role in “Baywatch”.
Those of a certain vintage will only ever be able to picture Pamela Anderson running in slow motion along the sandy beaches of Long Beach and Malibu in her role as C.J. Parker on “Baywatch,” which she played between 1992 and 1997.
Parker was one of numerous lifeguards, led by Mitch Buchannon (David Hasselhoff), who patrolled the beaches of Los Angeles County in 1989 and throughout the 1990s in their iconic red swimsuits.
The series catapulted Anderson to intentional stardom after she had already risen to prominence as the February 1990 Playboy Playmate of the Month, going on to appear on more covers of the magazine than any other individual.
Pamela Anderson post-“Baywatch”
Anderson was 30 by the time she left ‘Baywatch,’ at which point she was one of the entertainment world’s biggest stars and had also played lead character Barbara Kopetski in superhero film “Barb Wire”.
Since then, the Canadian has tried her hand at all sorts, initially featuring in films including “The Nanny” and “Scary Movie,” before drifting into sitcoms (“Stacked,” specifically), reality television (“Dancing with the Stars,” “Big Brother”, “Dancing on Ice”) and plenty more. There was even a sex tape thrown in there at one point…
Anderson, however, has made a high-profile return to acting in recent years, even making her Broadway debut in the production of “Chicago” in 2022.
Golden Globe nomination caps Hollywood return
After a documentary about her life (“Pamela, a Love Story”) was released on Netflix on 2023, the 57-year-old has now received her first ever Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress for her portrayal of Shelly Gardner in “The Last Showgirl,” which tells the story of a veteran showgirl who must plan for the future after her show comes to an end after 30 years.
Anderson has already won awards at the Miami Film Festival, the San Sebastián International Film Festival and the Zurich Film Festival, among others, for her performance in the indie film. On Sunday (January 5), she could collect her maiden Golden Globe, which would cap a spectacular return to Hollywood three decades after her “Baywatch” heyday.
