What did Denzel Washington say to the photographer on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival?
A professional lip-reader has revealed what the two-time Oscar-winning actor was said to an unwitting photographer.

Denzel Washington was a guest of honor at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday, picking up the prestigious Palme d’Or award. He was given the award by close friend Spike Lee, who premiered his new film “Highest 2 Lowest” that same day.
It was a day of celebration for Washington, but one that began in more contentious scenes. The 70-year-old was involved in a bizarre red carpet incident with a photographer, appearing to engage in a lengthy argument with the snapper.

It wasn’t initially clear exactly what had been said and Washington hasn’t spoken about the incident publicly. However expert lip reader Jeremy Freeman has told Daily Mail what he believes was said.
According to Freeman, the exchange began with a photographer grabbing at Washington’s arm on the red carpet, causing him to say: “Hey, one — one more time, stop."
“Let me tell you — stop, stop — never put your hands on me again,” the star continued. “I’m talking to you, stop, all right.”
However the photographer did not let up, and reportedly replied: “Not allowed,” with a smile. Soon after, the man went again saying: “Can I take a picture?”
It was at this point that Washington snapped, saying: “Stop, stop it, stop it. I mean it. Stop, stop it.”
Despite the apparent intensity of the moment, the photographer and those around him seemed to find the incident pretty funny.
Later in the night Washington was the center of attention again, this time for the right reasons. He accepted the award from long-time friend Spike Lee and appeared emotional on stage.
“This is a total surprise for me so I’m a little emotional, but from the bottom of my heart, I thank you all,” Washington told those in attendance. “It was a great opportunity to collaborate with my brother once again — brother from another mother, Spike.”
