After initially being scheduled for a March release, Friday, 3 May finally sees the official global launch of Dua Lipa’s ‘Radical Optimism, the long awaited follow-up to 2020′s ‘Future Nostalgia’.

The track features eleven new songs and has been preceded with the singles ‘Houdini’, ‘Training Session’ with new single ‘Illusion’ dropping earlier this month featuring a stunning video shot in the Catalan city of Barcelona.

Radical Optimism: running order

Radical Optimism: tracklist

"End of an Era"
"Houdini"
"Training Season"
"These Walls"
"Whatcha Doing"
"French Exit"
"Illusion"
"Falling Forever"
"Anything for Love"

"Happy for You"

Speaking to T Magazine last August 2023, the singer admitted that the forthcoming album will be “more personal” than her other releases adding: “The album is different. It’s still pop but it’s different sonically, and there’s more of a lyrical theme,” Lipa explained, noting that the new sound will not “alienate” her existing fans, lest they “have a meltdown.”

The new record reportedly draws inspiration from 1970s-era psychedelia as opposed to the disco influences that informed Future Nostalgia.

At present the singer has given little or nothing away in terms of guest appearances but we do know that the production team include Kevin Parker of Tame Impala fame and English producer Danny L. Harle with the album clocking in at just over 36 minutes.
