What movies will be released in cinemas in July 2024 in the U.S.?
Despicable Me 4 and Deadpool & Wolverine are among the July releases that are hoping to make a bit impact at the box office.
Inside Out 2 is the talk of the cinema world at the moment after becoming just the 54th film in history to surpass the $1 billion mark at the box office. The Pixar animated movie achieved the feat in just over two weeks after its release on 14 June.
Could any others coming out July follow suit? It’s highly unlikely, although there are high hopes for three box office pretenders - Despicable Me 4, Twisters and Deadpool & Wolverine - that are hitting theatres this month.
Without giving too much away, here’s the lowdown on the biggest new releases to look out for in July.

Despicable Me 4
Release date: July 3
Starring: Steve Carell, Kirsten Wiig, Sofía Vergara, Steve Coogna, Will Ferrell.
What’s it all about?: “Gru, Lucy, Margo, Edith, and Agnes welcome a new member to the family, Gru Jr., who is intent on tormenting his dad. Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal and his girlfriend Valentina, and the family is forced to go on the run.” (IMBD)
Twisters
Release date: July 17
Starring: Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, Anthony Ramos
What’s it all about?: “An update to the 1996 film ‘Twister’, which centered on a pair of storm chasers who risk their lives in an attempt to test an experimental weather alert system.” (IMDB)
Deadpool & Wolverine
Release date: July 26
Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma-Louise Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen
