Barbie, Oppenheimer and Succession lead the nominees for the 81st Golden Globes, whose awards contenders were announced on Monday.
Barbie and Oppenheimer, two movies that went head to head when they were released in US and UK cinemas on the same day in July, topped the Golden Globes’ film section with nine nominations each. In television, meanwhile, Succession is up for the most awards, having also received nine nominations. The hit HBO series is followed by The Bear and Only Murders in the Building, which have both been nominated for five.
When are the 81st Golden Globes?
The 2024 Golden Globes are to take place on Sunday 7 January 2024, with the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, once more hosting the event. The gala is scheduled to get underway at 8pm ET/5pm PT, and viewers in the US can watch on CBS and the network’s streaming platform, Paramount+.
