‘Whiplash’ actor Miles Teller’s explains why he and his wife won’t watch Super Bowl LIX with Taylor Swift
The actor is a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan and revealed that he’s not going to be in Swift’s star-studded box in New Orleans this year.

Last year, Taylor Swift’s Super Bowl suite was stuffed full of big-name celebrities at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
She watched the Kansas City Chiefs' triumph unfold alongside the likes of Ice Spice, Blake Lively and Lana Del Rey. Jason Kelce, brother of boyfriend Travis, was also in attendance, as was actor Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh Sperry.
However this time around Teller has revealed that he and Sperry, a close friend of Swift’s, will not be watching with the the Chiefs fans. They are going to be rooting for his hometown team.
Miles Teller’s sporting loves
Teller was born in Downingtown, Pennsylvania and he’s a big fan of the state’s sports teams. In 2022 he was a near-constant presence as the Philadelphia Phillies made an incredible playoff run, winning the National League pennant before falling to the Houston Astros in the World Series.
Just months later, Teller watched the Philadelphia Eagles lose to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. After two near misses in quick succession, Teller revealed that he and Sperry won’t be mixing with the Chiefs contingent this time around.
“Thankfully, when I was at the Chiefs' last Super Bowl, they weren’t playing the Eagles,” Teller told People, adding: “I’m going to be in a sea of green.”
“She’s a diehard Birds fan,” Teller said of wife Keleigh. “She might be a Southern California girl, but you marry into Philadelphia sports and that is it.”
Teller’s decision to return to the Eagles this Sunday will probably improve his game time mood but he will miss out on the chance to hang with a certified Philly sports legend. Jason Kelce was a part of the Eagles team that clinched the Super Bowl in 2016 and he will be supporting Travis this time around. Last year Teller watched the action unfold alongside Jason Kelce in the Chiefs' suite and he was reportedly left star-struck after meeting his sporting hero.
