Who is Victoria Disorbo, the contestant from the US in Miss World 2024?

The 71st edition of the Miss World beauty pageant, the oldest existing international beauty pageant, will take place on Saturday 9 March. More than 100 contestants from all over the world have travelled to Mumbai in India as they look to be next to take the coveted blue crown.

Participants from 112 countries and territories have already take part in a number of activities in India in the last few weeks, including various different challenges, charity events and a gala dinner.

Saturday’s ceremony will be hosted by Indian filmmaker Karan Johar and Megan Young, a Filipino-American actress who crowned Miss World 2013. There will also be musical performances from Indian playback singers Shaan, Neha Kakkar and Tony Kakkar.

The gala, which will be held at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai, will be broadcast in the United States exclusively on The Africa Channel, starting at 9:00 a.m. ET.

Meet Victoria Disorbo, Miss World America

According to her profile on the pageant’s website, Miss World America Victoria Disobro is 25-years-old and has worked as a Vice-President of Operations and Marketing, is a published author and currently serves as Ambassador for Angels for Humanity, an organisation providing support to impoverished children in Haiti.

After studying Communications at university, Victoria has since written two books and “would like to one day appear in the New York Times Best Seller List,” as per her Miss World profile. Ballroom dancing, water sports, playing the piano and public speaking are her main interests.

Disorbo wins Best Designer Award at Top Model challenge

Disorbo has worked with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for more than 15 years, in which time she has helped raise more than $400,000. “She has also recently lobbied government officials to improve the care and life of those living with Cystic Fibrosis,” her profile states.

“To all, please do not be afraid to find a space like Miss World to share your passions and your purpose. Your voice deserves to be heard, and I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity,” Disorbo insisted on her Instagram account after her pre-pageant interview with the judges.

As part of the Top Model challenge held a week before the contest, Victoria won the trophy for the Best Designer Award in America, with her dress designed by Nidel Moda.
