Update:

The tragic railway accident that occurred last night in the Córdoba town of Adamuz has so far left 39 people dead.

As a result, all high-speed rail connections between the Andalusian region and the country’s capital have been suspended today, 19 January. However, other transport options have been reinforced in an effort to restore a degree of normality as far as possible.

Buses

Adif has announced the cancellation of all high-speed services between Madrid and Andalusia (Seville, Málaga, Granada, Córdoba, Huelva, Cádiz and Algeciras) for the entire day. To address this, bus services have been made available for passengers stranded at intermediate stations or those needing to complete essential journeys.

In addition, all long-distance bus routes between Andalusian cities and Madrid remain operational, although travel times exceed seven hours.

Intercity services

Intercity trains linking Andalusia with the capital will continue to operate, as they are not high-speed services. These trains use alternative routes that avoid the section of track affected by the accident.

For this Monday, the Intercity service is scheduled to depart Madrid Puerta de Atocha at 08:20, arriving in Almería at 15:28. In the opposite direction, the train will leave Almería at 15:30, with an estimated arrival in Madrid at 22:26.

Four additional flights

For those needing to travel quickly between Andalusia and Madrid today, flying is currently the fastest option. With high-speed rail services cancelled, Iberia has announced four additional flights between Madrid and the cities of Seville and Málaga to help accommodate passenger demand.

Remember, if you are looking for information about any passenger or changes to your tickets, use only the official channels:
