Some Bank of America branches in Texas will close in the coming months, according to reports shared by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

Closures are expected this year, but they will be much less than those recorded last year, when several financial institutions announced they would shutter hundreds of branches across the country.

According to several banks, the closures are caused primarily by the rise of online banking, which has resulted in some branches no longer being profitable.

According to financial institutions, the banking needs of their customers have changed and more and more transactions are now being carried out outside physical locations.

Here are the branches that will close in the coming months in Texas.

Bank of America branch locations that will no longer be serving customers can be found on the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency website. The OCC shares weekly bulletins stating the locations of banks that will be closing.

Banking institutions must notify the OCC at least 90 days before they close a location. This is done through an Advance Notice of Branch Closing. Banks must also notify the OCC when they seek to open a new branch, relocate, or reverse any of these actions.
