Bank of America closes branches across the US: List of affected locations
Here is the complete list of Bank of America branches that closed in the final weeks of last year and in 2025.

Bank of America has announced a new wave of branch closures across the United States. So far in 2025, the financial institution has shut down locations in more than 10 states, including California, Florida, and Illinois.
There are several reasons why banks choose to close or relocate branches, one of the most common being a lack of profitability in certain cities. In recent years, branch closures have become more frequent due to the growing popularity of online banking, which has significantly changed how customers manage their finances.
As technology continues to evolve, the number of transactions that can be completed via ATMs, mobile apps, or online banking platforms has steadily increased—reducing the need for many users to visit a physical branch.
Despite the closures, Bank of America is also expanding into new markets. In September 2024, the bank announced plans to open 165 new financial centers across 63 markets by the end of 2026. This includes nearly 40 new branches that opened in 2024, in addition to more than 100 centers previously launched.

Bank of America branches closing in 2025
Banks can’t shut down a branch overnight. By law, they must notify the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) at least 90 days in advance. This is done through an Advance Notice of Branch Closure, which is included in the OCC’s weekly bulletins published on its website.
These bulletins list not only upcoming closures but also branches that have already closed, relocated, or reopened. Several Bank of America locations appear in these updates.
