Confirmed: Bank of America will close all branches on June 19, 2026
Bank of America has confirmed that it will close all branches on Friday, June 19. Here’s the reason behind the mass 24-hour closure.

Bank of America will temporarily close all branch locations in the United States this month. The bank will close on Friday, June 19, in observance ofJuneteenth, also known as Emancipation Day, which commemorates the end of slavery.
Almost all banks and financial institutions, including Bank of America, typically close on official federal holidays, since they provide services that involve the Federal Reserve.
Because the Federal Reserve closes for the 11 official federal holidays, from New Year’s Day through Christmas Day, banks cannot provide their services on those dates and also close.
List of banks that will close all branches on June 19
Like Bank of America, most banks will be closed on June 19, including: Wells Fargo, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Chase, Citibank, U.S. Bank, SunTrust Bank, Capital One, Citizens Bank, Santander Bank, BBVA, Compass and many others. We recommend checking with your nearest branch for hours and closures.
Because Juneteenth Day falls on a Friday, banks, including Bank of America, will be closed for three consecutive days, from June 19 through June 21, since June 20 and 21 fall on Saturday and Sunday. Banks will resume in‑branch services on Monday, June 22.
Although branches will be closed, banking tasks via online banking, mobile app or ATMs will be available. However, it is important to consider that scheduling payments on a federal holiday followed by a weekend may mean processing begins on the next business day.
Bank of America will also be closed on these days in 2026
Of the 11 holidays recognized by the U.S. government, some are observed on fixed dates while others change each year. Also, if a holiday falls on a Saturday it is observed the prior Friday, and if it falls on a Sunday it is observed the following Monday.
This 2026, Bank of America has already been closed for these holidays:

- Presidents’ Day (third Monday in February): February 16, 2026

On the other hand, Bank of America will also be closed on these 2026 dates:
