Dogs are left to fend for themselves locked in a cage and their savior quickly appears: “It broke my heart”.

It’s February 24, imagine going for a peaceful walk, and suddenly, the journey takes an unexpected turn, turning into a real rescue operation. This is exactly what happened to Paula Clarkstone, who, while walking down a street in Redford, UK, came across three abandoned dogs.

Despite the dirt covering their bodies, the animals were in relatively good health. Although the discovery left the young woman in shock, finding the dogs locked in a cage, she quickly took them to the nearest shelter.

The dogs were located in a grassy area next to a path. There were no houses around since it was a green space, so someone must have left the animals there and fled the scene.

Paula’s heart was broken

The rescuer admitted that she was “heartbroken” when she discovered the dogs and that she couldn’t just leave them. “The dogs were dirty, stinky, matted, but they seemed to be well-fed,” she said. Paula also mentioned that the dogs were very friendly despite their difficult situation.

According to the British outlet Workshop Guardian, a local animal protection unit intervened to take care of the dogs, ensuring they were fed and bathed. Finally, the officials, using the dogs’ identification chips, have tried to locate the owner, although, so far, they have not been identified.
