The Florida Lotto has not had a grand prize winner since the end of August, and the jackpot has been increasing ever since. Tonight’s draw will have a prize pool of $27.5 million. The current prize is the largest since June when a single ticket matched all six numbers to win the $44 million jackpot. The prize was not claimed, so the money will mostly go to supporting education. 80% of the amount will be diverted to a fund for Florida public education, while the remaining 20% will be returned to the prize pool.

What are the winning Florida Lotto numbers for Saturday, 16 December?

The winning numbers are 3-9-10-20-62-25, and a multiplier of X3.

How to play Florida Lotto

Tickets to play the Florida Lotto cost $2. The prizes range from a free Quick Pick ticket for another chance at a prize to winning the jackpot. You can also choose to add two more features, Double Play and EZmatch, for an additional $1 each. Opting for both will bring the total ticket price to $4.Players choose six numbers from 1 through 53, or they can have the terminal do the picking for them by marking the QP (Quick Pick) box. All of the numbers come from the same draw pool.

The overall odds of winning a prize for Florida Lotto is 1 in 7.61. Those are more than three times better than the overall odds of winning a prize compared to Mega Millions or Powerball.

While the Double Play add-on has the same overall odds as the standard game, with the EZmatch add-on the chances are better of getting an instant cash prize at 1 in 4.71 overall.

All non-jackpot prizes in the standard game and Double Play are set amounts, and starting in 2020, every ticket purchased includes a randomly generated “multiplier” number which automatically increases non-jackpot cash prizes by two, three, four, five, or ten times. While the multiplier doesn’t apply to EZmatch numbers that win, each ticket has the possibility of six winning numbers.

When are the Florida Lotto drawings and how late can you buy a ticket?

There are two drawings per week which are held Wednesday and Saturday nights at 11:15 p.m. ET. You can purchase a ticket up until 10:55 p.m. ET on the night of the draw. Any ticket purchased after that time will be for the following drawing.

Claiming Florida lotto prizes

Prizes that are less than $600 can be claimed at any lottery retailer in the state. If you win a prize that is between $600 and $250,000, you can claim it at a state lottery office. However, if you win a prize that exceeds $250,000, you must claim it at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. It is worth noting that the names of the winners will be kept confidential for 90 days for prizes over $250,000.

If you have won a prize, you must claim it within 180 days from the draw date. However, there is an exception for the one-time cash payout for the jackpot, which must be claimed within the first 60 days after the drawing.
